Welcome to Coming Home Coalition (CHC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families navigate the challenges of incarceration and reintegration. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support and resources for both inmates and their families, fostering successful transitions and brighter futures. At CHC, we understand that incarceration impacts not only the individual behind bars but also their loved ones. Our reintegration services encompass a wide range of support, including life coaching, counseling, and practical guidance to empower both inmates and their families. We work closely with families to address their concerns, provide emotional support, and help them develop strategies for maintaining connections during these challenging times. For families facing the impending incarceration of a loved one, we offer specialized prison preparation programs. These programs equip families with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system, understand prison procedures, and manage the emotional strain of separation. Our organization is deeply rooted in the Pasco County and Hillsborough County areas, and we have developed a strong network of resources to ensure our clients have access to the support they need. We are proud to collaborate with the Shady Hills Mission Chapel, which provides a supportive environment for recovery and behavioral management. This partnership allows us to offer holistic support, addressing not only the practical challenges but also the emotional and mental well-being of our clients. Central to our approach is the expertise of our clinical director, who conducts thorough assessments to understand the unique mental health needs of each individual. By tailoring our support to these needs, we ensure that both inmates and families receive appropriate counseling and interventions to promote overall well-being. Our founder, who himself successfully reintegrated into society after incarceration, brings a wealth of experience and firsthand understanding to our organization. His personal journey underscores our commitment to helping others overcome the obstacles of reintegration and achieve meaningful, productive lives. At Coming Home Coalition, we are more than a support network – we are a community that believes in the power of transformation. Through reintegration services, life coaching, prison preparation, and collaboration with local partners, we are dedicated to building bridges, fostering resilience, and creating a brighter future for all those affected by incarceration.
The U.S. releases over 7 million people from jail and more than 600,000 people from prison each year. However, recidivism is common. Within 3 years of their release, 2 out of 3 people are rearrested and more than 50% are incarcerated again.
When a crime has occurred, the attention is focused on the accused and the family is a lot of the times left to figure it out on their own. Many are left confused, disoriented and abandoned. And at one point or another their first time dealing with the Law. These are when the critical mistakes are made that reshape an individual's life. Who do we as community have to trust or rely on that has their best interest?
That is what Coming Home Coalition is all about. Protecting the community against the tyranny of the Prison Industrial system by making sure that the system works the way it is supposed to.
We get into these contracts with these government officials based on trust rooted in dependency and that leaves us open for manipulation. True dependable trust comes from experience and education and that is what Coming Home Coalition is.
Offering Coaching in the fields of relationship understanding and repairing the bonds that has been broken.
Helping the family who has been torn apart and left to feel alone by connecting them with organizations that truly help.
Mentoring young children and adolescents in the pitfall's setup for failure in the poor communities.
The point is there are so many pitfalls and risks, and PRISON is a BUSINESS.
I am here to help advise and guide you through any of these processes the best that I can all with the intentions of helping change the reasons we get locked up to begin with.
Coming home from a long sentence can be frightening for everyone involved. The best way to fight recidivism is with knowledge and experience.
Dont quit without giving me a chance.
"Oh my goodness! This piece of writing by Thomas touches every important point in self-recovery—and to my way of thinking, in personal transformation as well. He knows his stuff because he’s experienced it all—and paid attention to the nuances of the process from beginning to resolution to the ongoing exploration of greater expansion. Becoming the soul-in-the-body is not just for those in recovery from super-hard times, it’s what’s “up” for all of us. Everyone can gain from reading this book!"
—Penney Peirce, author of Frequency, Leap of Perception, and Transparency
"I’ve been a criminal defense attorney for 40 years. This is the best guide to achieving success after prison I’ve read. It’s good advice for everyone."
~Alex Charns, Esq., Durham, NC~
I have created this book to share my life experiences with everyone and help them help themselves out of a hard time or even in life. Being raised in an unstable community has become more frequent in America today. From educationally challenged systemics to affluent families with no idea how to properly raise a child without toxicity. This book will cite all of the problems with the system we all live in and the system within ourselves. With these few questions you can ask yourself holistically, you can find out if this book is the right for you. Are you suffering from severe negative thinking or actions? Would you like to change your perspective on life without expensive alternatives, such as psychotherapy and pseudoscience? If so, then this book is for you! For this book to work for you, you need to be 110% honest with yourself and begin to see yourself in the third person. Put yourself in your shoes and understand your actions from a different perspective. If you are ready for the challenge and want to better yourself.
Buckle up because it’s going to be one bumpy but exciting ride!
